All items are checked and sent out as working unless stated otherwise. Please check that the game you are purchasing is suitable for your console – is your console a UK PAL system and is the game you are purchasing also a UK PAL version? We often sell Japanese, American NTSC and European games as well as the authorised adaptors for most of the retro UK consoles.
If you are in doubt just ask, as RetroGameDepot will only refund a game if it has been sold as working and it fails to work.

Due to age and rarity some items are not available in perfect condition, however we do provide a detailed description as well as clear photographs for you to decide on the purchase, and we are happy to provide additional details or photographs on your request.
When grading items, we usually use the term 'average condition'. The reason for this is that every single person has a different view on what is 'Good Condition'.
The term 'Good Condition' will only be used in the most deserving places.
Because of these different views, precaution has to be taken when grading to avoid disapointment.
If you purchase a game from RetroGameDepot and find it to be in much better condition than 'average' then great, this will undoubtabley happen alot!

Orders are usually despatched within 24 hours of your payment clearing. Please allow cheques 7 days to clear.
E-Cheques will also take a considerable amount of time to clear. If possible, please avoid this payment method as it is not recommended.

UK Orders

Small packages will normally take 1-2 days and larger packages 3-7 days. They are dispatched via 1st Class Royal Mail, unless they are too heavy to go via this service.
Items are 'usually' dispatched the next day, however please be patient after payment has been made. If there is any delay in postage, you will be notified by email.

If you would like your item despatched using an alternative service, or if you would like it insured please provide details.

International Orders

International Buyers MUST pay via Paypal!
We dont accept Western Union, or anything of the sort.

Postage on International orders starts at £7.99 via Royal Mail International Signed For. Postage for any further items afterwards (weight taken into consideration) should cost no more than an extra £1 each. To make sure you feel more comfortable ordering overseas too, our guarantee is that if postage turns out to be alot cheaper than the invoiced cost, we will refund the difference.

Why is Postage for International Orders so expensive?

It actually isnt. The initial postage cost is there plus a £3.50 extra for insurance.
Postal Insurance is very important. To cover both our tracks, the Insurance and tracking is required. Parcels do go missing when sent abroad, so this method is to avoid disapointment!
Items will be sent via Airmail Small Packet Rate (With the £3.50 Royal Mail International Signed For) unless to heavy to send via this method.

Repair, Refunds & Feedback

In the rare case, that you purchase soemthign and it doesnt work, please get in touch. However please read over the following first...
The majority of games and hardware being sold are on avreage 10 to 15 years old. As we all know, its when the best games were made!
As these items as considerably old, failure can happen. As written above, all the items are fully tested before being listed. But if you find on your own console your purchase doesnt work, please try the following

Cartridge Based Games

The first thing to understand with Old Systems is that not all Cartridges load up first time.
If you find after a few tries the game still fails to load, blow on the cartridge connectors and the consoles connectors and try again.
If that fails to work, please take a cotton wool bud and clean the connectors. Also make sure there is no dirt in your console preventing the cartridge from being detected.

CD Based Games

CD Based games arent the most reliable of games. Everyones console has a different strength laser meaning, on one system a badly scratched game will run, where as the same game wont run on another system.
We avoid selling badly scratched games to avoid disapointment. Most second hand CD games will come scratched in some way, but the ones we sell usually dont affect gameplay.

Playstation 1 Games are usually the ones that the most questions are asked about. There are so many different revisions to the Playstation hardware, that all the lasers are different strength.
Please note that playing Playstation 1 games in Playstation 2, doesnt always work as well... The Lasers used in modern consoles such at the Xboxs and Playstations are very weak cheap lasers.

The best way to play your games is on the original hardware intended for it!
If the game doesnt load up first time, try wiping the disc with a soft cloth. Also blow any dust of the laser (if reachable)

Portable Consoles (Gameboy etc)

A quick note. Not all batteries work in old portables. I have found that my rechargable battieres fail to work in some portables.
Please try different types.

Refunds

In the event that none of the above works for you, please get in touch and we will be willing to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.
If nothing can be done to fix your item, you will be asked to mail it back to us. Upon its arrival we will check the item for you.
